about

A very old Welsh Air that was published in 1794 in a collection of requiems from medieval bards. Tradition has it that a harper named David Owen composed the original on his deathbed, requesting that it be played at his funeral; the historical David Owen was in fact known by “David of the White Rock”. Its Welsh name is “Dafydd y Garreg Wen”.
